REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Prabowo Subianto affirmed the policy of regulating natural resources exports (SDA) is a strategic step by the government to ensure Indonesia's natural wealth is able to bring great benefits to all people. According to him, during this time, some of the profits from the management of Indonesian natural resources still flow abroad and are not fully enjoyed by the people in the country.

“For too long some of the profits from natural resources have flowed abroad and not stayed in Mother Earth. Therefore, the government determines the export of natural resources one door,” President Prabowo said in a speech commemorating Pancasila's Birthday at Pancasila Building, Jakarta, Monday (1/6/2026).

President Prabowo also stressed the importance of massive investments in the downstream industrialization sector to increase the added value of natural resources. In addition, the government is trying to strengthen the management of foreign exchange proceeds from exports so that the economic benefits of the national natural wealth can be felt more by the public.

Furthermore, Prabowo said Indonesia's economic development should remain based on Pancasila values, including the principles of an economy that is egalitarian and oriented to the interests of the people. He judged the direction of national economic development to have been clearly outlined by the nation's founders through Article 33 of the 1945 Basic Law.

Indonesia's economy should also be structured as a family-based joint venture. Therefore, the strengthening of cooperatives became one of the important agendas of the government to improve public welfare and reduce poverty.

“Therefore, cooperatives must be strengthened, cooperatives must rise. Cooperatives are one of the tools to lift our people out of a state of poverty and helplessness. Small and medium-sized enterprises must we strengthen, and villages must become the center of new economic growth,” the President said.

Prabowo stressed that the ultimate goal of national economic development is to realize social justice for all Indonesians. Therefore, economic growth must go hand in hand with the equalization of development results so that progress can be felt by all walks of life.
